Photography
Photography is one of my loves in life, and something that will be very prominent in this site. While I enjoy simply taking the camera out and shooting architecture, or wandering a city’s landscape, I especially enjoy taking pictures of people. I’ve found it’s a great way to meet new people, and I have made many friends through this hobby.
A fall vista
While I remember having a camera around since I was very young, I started taking pictures more seriously in college, when I inherited my first SLR. It opened a new world of what I could do with a lens.
Then a few years back I started bringing my photography hobby with me to science fiction and anime conventions that I would occasionally frequent. I met many people this way and discovered that costumers and cosplayers are an incredibly creative lot. I found I really enjoyed photographing costumers as well, and thus a new direction in my photography took shape. . It is something a bit different and outside of the normal photo world, even model photography.
A more recent shift in my travels has brought me head first into the Steampunk community. Steampunk has been around for a long time, but only recently has it had a name, an identity to rally around. Similarly, I have been into many of the things that makeup Steampunk for a long time. Mad scientists, airship and airship pilots, Victorian clothing..
